OH MY GOSSIP! I KNOW HER! I've played video games with her and argued about politics with her. We debated whether or not George Lucas' decision to make one or two X-Wing pilots on Star Wars women, in fact, constitutes enough to "make us happy" from a modern, lefty, feminist, all-liberated-and-stuff point of view (Give me a break. We were in college, okay?).
I have seen her act, too, but only in person, and on the film we worked on, First Year From Home, where she did a fantastic job: bright, energetic and always lively and very funny. Every time she's supposed to be on a TV show, though, her character gets killed by the time I get around to watching it. Her name is Sprague Graydon and she played Heather on Jericho. I watched an episode of Jericho where they're all "We're here to find Heather" and "We're not leaving without Heather" over and over again. 45 minutes through they find out Heather's dead. This has happened every time I try to watch her shows. They always kill her characters. I'm not in college anymore, but I still can't help but think there's something freudian going on.
Anyway, Sprague showed up on Hollywood fashion blog Go Fug Yourself (Screenshot). In this case, GFY did not lay the blame for Sprague's Faux Pas on her, but on her friends: "[Sprague] seems like the kind of girl whose friends would have no trouble pulling [her] aside and saying, 'love the dress, Sprague, but what's up with the kerchief? You kind of look like you're hiding a hickey in a movie about teens in the 50s, or like it's holding your head on. Maybe a necklace instead?'... My question, then, is not about her, but rather about her friends: WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?"
So, I haven't seen Sprague in, like, seven years, but I think I still qualify, so I suppose I should respond here. Let's see... that particular event was on January 6th... probably in the evening... so I was probably at home. In NYC. But, had I been there, I would have said this: "Honey, I love the scarf! Anyone who thinks you need a necklace instead is obviously not aware of your lovely blue eyes and can just go fug themselves! You look just perfect!"
So I caught up with Sprague, who plays the president's daughter in the next season of the hit series 24 and got the inside scoop on the upcoming plot. Seriously: you are not going to hear this anywhere else, and you are not going to believe it! Here's what happens: through a series of dramatic, unexpected and action-packed scenes, Jack Bauer saves the president, the US, and indeed the world, from imminent doom just in the nick of time! Unbelievable! Those 24 writers just never stop do they? I hope that wasn't a spoiler for anyone...
Oh, and Sprague's character dies.
